Man vs. Computer Essay
Since the beginning of time, man has thought up and brought to fruition countless inventions. Each has been more ingenious than the last. The human mind has created such brilliant things, but the computer may have been its greatest creation. It is ever changing, evolving and growing ââ¬Å"smarterâ⬠. However, as the computer has evolved, mankindââ¬â¢s value may be threatened. The computer has already begun to overtake many of the vital functions that man has prided himself upon. While neither the mind nor the computer are perfectly productive on their own, they complement each other, and together create a more efficient way of living. Our lives are now dependent upon the computer and what it tells you. Even now as I type this journal entry on my computer, I am fully convinced that it will produce a result for me that is far superior to what I can manage using only my own two hands. It has been commonly said that the computer can never replace the human brain, because it was humans that created them. Is this a good reason why the computer must be inferior to humans? A computer has the ability to evaluate problems that humans can hardly even imagine, let alone approach. Even if a man can calculate the same problems as a computer, the computer can solve it much faster than the human mind. Maybe it is the subconscious attempt by us at reaching the next stage of evolution by our minds, creating a machine to do all the dirty work for us while we sit back and allows our brains to focus on creating, or destroying, as the case may be. The human brain has many flaws, yet it also has many an edge over the computer. It has the capacity to create, unlike the computer. It can work without full input, making logical assumptions about problems. A person can work with a wide variety of methods, seeing new and more efficient ways of handling problems. It can come up with infinite ways of getting around problems encountered in everyday life, while a computer has a limited selection of new tricks it can come up with, limited by its programming. Given the time, the human brain can learn to understand anything, and it can grasp the central theme of any concept. The computer tends to take all things in their entirety, which makes some problems near impossible to solve. Emotions are also an asset. Emotions have allowed the human brain to evolve beyond a problem-solving machine. Anger allows the imagination to roam, inventing concepts of new and more powerful weapons of destruction. Discontent induces the mind to conceive of new methods of fulfillment that could be expanded into something more. Puzzlement causes the mind to think of solutions. Curiosity leads to attempts to satisfy it, producing new discoveries and revelations. The human brain is as incredible as it is flawed, and the computer is a fantastic machine, but seriously lacking in many aspects. Perhaps the computer is not truly a competitor with the human brain, but rather itââ¬â¢s ideal. Donââ¬â¢t those who use the computer do so in order to supplement their own creative input? After all, the computer is far superior to the human brain in those aspects where the brain is weakest. Neither the mind nor the computer would be as good as the two of them are when they are working together.

Mixed Marriages
Relationships of every type are faced with a wide variety of problems and challenges in any given situation. Whether it involves our coworkers, neighbors, friends or family ââ¬â the dynamics are relatively similar and predictable within a common cultural framework. These dynamics become more complex where marriage is concerned and differences in personalities come to the forefront. While these issues can be challenging enough for any married couple, there are additional difficulties specific to couples in a mixed marriage. For the purpose of this paper, mixed marriage is defined as a marriage of two people from different races, religions or cultures. Different customs and cultural backgrounds can directly impact your marriage and family life, as they tend to teach different values and priorities. This is particularly true in cases where a husband and wife were raised in different parts of the world. SPECIFIC POINTS Acceptance of the mix-marriage ââ¬â is a major obstacle as oft en times the families of both partners do not approve of their marriage.Mixed-marriage couples deal with unique challenges compared to traditional couples. The challenge with interracial couples is respecting each otherââ¬â¢s race and culture. If not, this can have a ripple effect to the extended family. Social attitude and prejudices For instance, one partnerââ¬â¢s prevalent social attitudes and common prejudices may begin to show more openly one day. ââ¬Å"When this happens, all you can do is to maintain a good-natured attitude and have lots of patience,â⬠Hans adds. But potential obstacles need to be clearly identified and frankly addressed before moving ahead.Nationalistic, ethnic, or social pride can also drive a wedge between otherwise loving spouses. One partner may (subconsciously) feel superior because he or she grew up in a ââ¬Å"higherâ⬠socio-economic class than the other. Or a spouse may feel owed something for having legalized the otherââ¬â¢s citiz enship through matrimony. Pride also raises its head when one spouse believes that the otherââ¬â¢s culture or beliefs are inferior or strange, thereby discounting the other personââ¬â¢s importance in the relationship.Racial offenses ââ¬â You want to avoid making any remarks including those in a joking manner. You can also simply make this clear to those around you by telling them that you will avoid interactions with someone who continues to be negative regarding your marriage. Firmly tell the person you will not spend time with anyone who expresses racist views. Interracial couples sometimes experience rejection or stress from their own families. This may occur because of traditional beliefs that people should marry of the same cultural background.Regardless of whether this is an issue in your marriage, it's still important to remember to respect the beliefs and traditions of your partner's family. Interracial relationships are much more common today. However, they can st ill bring unique challenges. Along with being aware of these four areas but also having sensitive and open communication, an interracial marriage can overcome the additional challenges. Yet it also offers plenty of opportunities for couples to learn from each other and to gain new perspectives on their lives and marriage.Communication is a key issue ââ¬â The nonverbal stimuli in a communication, like body language, can also lead to wrong expression and misunderstanding by different cultures. In addition, factor for space between people, certain actions, even a sense of taste needs to be taken to consideration. Communication of symbol is also important and can represent a groupââ¬â¢s identity ââ¬â speech like whatââ¬â¢s up, and ââ¬Ëyoââ¬â¢ are popular in Malaysia. Non verbal communication, High context and low context communication.Communication can be one of the biggest difficulties facing interracial or intercultural couples. This can include the challenge of li terally speaking different languages. At first, couples tend to enjoy hearing another language spoken, but this can also become a point of contention when misunderstandings occur or when the ââ¬Å"foreignâ⬠language is spoken at family gatherings. Communication also becomes an issue when it affects the way a couple solves problems. Family Structure ââ¬â issues such as male dominated societies (marriage culture), differing concepts of raising children. It always makes sense to find out as much as possible about your partnerââ¬â¢s family but it makes special sense to do so in mixed marriages ââ¬â especially concerning the culture and its traditional family structures. Mixed marriages often face additional struggles and challenges in the field of parenting. Raising a child always leads to conflicts if the parents are not on the same page. We werenââ¬â¢t sure how to raise our kid. Whose traditions do we pass on? â⬠ââ¬Å"My friends here do not struggle as much a s we do.But then again, they donââ¬â¢t have to synchronize two different sets of cultural and religious backgrounds,â⬠Hans concedes. The involvement of extended family members in the child-rearing process, behavioral expectations, and the question of what is considered appropriate frequently cause heated discussions between Hans and Ruba. ââ¬Å"Interestingly enough, we have always found a compromise so far. Despite our different outlooks, it helps us to know that we both want the best for our child.Itââ¬â¢s not easy, but we have some common ground in that. For example, I agreed that Eman should be raised as a Muslim because her faith is very important to my wife. But I didnââ¬â¢t want her grandparents to have too much of a say. For me, child-rearing is the parentsââ¬â¢ responsibility ââ¬â and only theirs. â⬠Different cultural attitudes towards the respective roles of men and women in the home can play havoc with this area of the relationship unless husba nds and wives can find ways to turn conflicts into opportunities for learning and growth.Religion and Politics ââ¬â Partners in mixed marriages may be supportive of each otherââ¬â¢s religious beliefs but still often run into unexpected issues. Differences in the way people in these marriages celebrate certain holidays or have dietary restrictions are to be expected. Politics can be problematic if world view is highly polarized ââ¬â ie. Convervative/Liberal/Socialist/Communist Food Culture ââ¬â We often clash over specific issues, like food. It drives me crazy that she doesnââ¬â¢t even let me cook pork. I think our arguments have gotten worse since the birth of our daughter. As in any relationship or marriage, both partners have to be flexible and open-minded when facing unexpected arguments and issues. INFORMATION TO DRAW FROM FOR SUMMARY OR WHATEVER In the first place, itââ¬â¢s important to acknowledge and understand how contrasting customs and cultural backgrou nds are likely to impact your marriage and family life. The way youââ¬â¢re brought up is the way youââ¬â¢ll live unless you make a conscious choice to embrace another option. Different customs and cultures teach different values and priorities.Normally, this means that interracial or multicultural couples have a unique need to bend, flex, compromise, and accommodate to one anotherââ¬â¢s contrasting ways of looking at life. This is especially true if a husband and wife grew up in different parts of the world. ââ¬Å"In mixed marriages, arguments may come up more often because of the different cultural backgrounds,â⬠Ruba says. ââ¬Å"Itââ¬â¢s just a lot more challenging. â⬠Clashing values ââ¬â When you come from different families of origin, you will make different assumptions about how a family works. These assumptions wonââ¬â¢t always be compatible. However, this is the case in most marriages. In an interracial relationship, thereââ¬â¢s a good chance that at least some of these challenges will be accented, especially if you choose to have children. Comparisons ââ¬â You and your partner bring unique differences to the marriage. These differences should be embraced and may likely be some of the most enriching parts of your lives. You want to discuss with your partner what you each consider most important in any traditions or cultural beliefs. 1. You both come from ends of the world, where the way of life is totally different.Yours will be a major leap of adjustments. The difference in practices about religion as well as political beliefs may have to result to one acquiescing to the otherââ¬â¢s belief just to have a harmonious relationship. 2. Prejudice on social practices, such as sex-selective abortion, often cause early breakup of the marriage as one may not be ready to fully embrace this new-found culture you are bound to live due to marriage. 3. The language barrier often results to miscommunication and misunderstandin g that sadly leads to divorce or separation.

Your Your Number 14 April 2006 Too Much Love: Similarities in ââ¬Å"The Story of an Hourâ⬠and ââ¬Å"The Yellow Wallpaperâ⬠When a marriage is a prison and the husband is a warden, strong women must eventually find a way to escape. Mrs. Mallard in ââ¬Å"The Story of an Hourâ⬠by Kate Chopin and the narrator in ââ¬Å"The Yellow Wall-Paperâ⬠by Charlotte Perkins Gilman are both intelligent Victorian women, but neither is allowed to publicly express herself. Instead, each woman is forced to keep her ideas bottled up inside because her husband smothers her with love and deprives her of her freedom. For the unnamed woman in ââ¬Å"The Yellow Wallpaper, â⬠this suffocation overcomes her and she escapes to the only place she can avoid Johnââ¬â¢s crushing caress: the madness of her own mind. Mrs. Mallard is allowed to finally release ââ¬Å"the strongest impulse of her beingâ⬠(Chopin 537) and when reality tries to replace the cork on her freedom, it is too much for her to bear. She dies of heartbreak. In these two stories, we see how the oppression of women under the guise of love leads to the destruction of both the love and the woman. Both characters are constrained in the very beginning by the social conventions of their time and class. It was thought that true women should not exert themselves, because they were too fragile to handle any strain. So it is for the characters in these stories. They are thought to be weak. Mrs. Mallard, we learn in the first sentence, ââ¬Å"was afflicted with heart troubleâ⬠(Chopin 536) and thus ââ¬Å"great careâ⬠(Chopin 536) is taken with her. Her family does not believe she can handle the news of her husbandââ¬â¢s death on her own and does even allow her the luxury of sitting alone in her room. The narrator of ââ¬Å"The Yellow Wallpaperâ⬠relates that her husband, John, ââ¬Å"is very careful and lovingâ⬠(Gilman 727) and Johnââ¬â¢s sister is ââ¬Å"so careful of meâ⬠(Gilman 729). Further, her unnamed condition, which seems to be lack of stimulation, is exacerbated by a husband who belittles her with his every loving gesture. She says, ââ¬Å"He laughs at me, of course, but one expect that in a marriageâ⬠(Gilman 725). He reduces her anger with him to a ââ¬Å"nervous conditionâ⬠(Gilman 726), dictates ââ¬Å"a schedule prescription for each hour in the dayâ⬠(Gilman 726), ââ¬Å"hates to have [her] write a wordâ⠬ (Gilman 726), forbids her to have ââ¬Å"stimulating people aboutâ⬠(Gilman 728), forces her to live in a nursery, and calls her ââ¬Å"little girlâ⬠(Gilman 732).

Sir Isaac Newton An Important Figure in Scientific History
Sir Isaac Newton History has been characterized by important discoveries made by the worlds scientists. These men and women are responsible for everything that has led humanity from the cave-dwelling Neanderthals of ancient times to the position that they hold today. Scientists are responsible for the wheel, for fire, for tools, for every single thing that people have come to accept as a part of existence. Without scientific investigation, people could not progress and society as a whole would not be able to develop. With each scientific discovery, the world at large improves and changes into a well-developed and universally intelligent entity. During times of growth, scientific inquiry has made large-scale progressions in short periods of time. Auditing and Assurance BSF Limited
Question: Describe about the Auditing and Assurance for BSF Limited. Answer: Introduction The case study manages the organization BSF Limited which is known as the Bio-supportable Feeds manage the Australian Bio-research firm is by all accounts occupied with the aqua culture feeds from the two decades. The research is by all accounts managing the plant based feeds costing about $360 million AUD which appears to have low estimation of $120 less for the piscavorian fish, furthermore appears to neglect to flourish. According to the research led, it gives the data assembling the feeds for the fish seems to be based on the plants (Savitz Weber, 2013). The procedure is by all accounts making environmental issues and along these lines the following level of exploration is portrayed which manages making bacteria from the plant based woods. The research is by all means fruitful for BSF Ltd which costs $160 million AUD however to bring it to the business sector it is relied upon to cost $200 million AUD. For this research, BSF Ltd got $500 million AUD from CSIRO i.e. Commonwealth Scientific Industrial Research Organization. With getting the cash, he chose to work on same patent for which it will be costing $200 million AUD with making a return of $700 for the following two years. Steps that are considered before accepting the Audit for applying them to BSF Ltd The risk maintenance of the BSF Ltd steps that are measured before the Audit seems to be accepted for applying them to BSF Ltd depends upon the methodologies (Fry Nisiewicz, 2013). It in this way helps in sorting the engaged dangers which comprises of three vital parts that are as per the following:- Client business risk that portrays the relationship of danger with respect to the survival of customer and profitability. Audit risk which comprises of the danger that is made by auditor accidentally by neglecting to change the financial statements by the materials (Vona, 2008). Auditor's business risk comprises of the danger of the potential prosecutions that expenses affirmed audit disappointment and along these lines the danger of different expenses is presented with fee realization and reputational effects. With accepting the engagement of audit, there are few stages that must be taken after, before accepting the audit of the association BSF Ltd which are as per the following:- Evaluating the uprightness of administration that is identified with the material mistakes and from now, the abnormalities are destined to be happened when the administration is by all accounts unscrupulous (Sarker et al., 2016). Identification of the specific conditions with respect to the strange risks which the reviewer concentrates on the proposed clients of the financial statements. The customer firm faces the potential critical lawful cases with the financial distress and in this manner the clients are proposed to utilize the common law of negligence. Evaluation of freedom aides in characterizing the behaviour required under the principle of the 101 of code of conduct. Accepting the role of doing an Audit of BSF Ltd Inherent risks are chosen as the peril that can be controlled by a mix-up or the avoidance in a financial statement. The breakdown of the unavoidable risk depicts a champion amongst the most basic perils for acknowledgment of the cash related declarations with thusly including the control and the revelation risks. If the inherent risk and the control risk are seen to be high then the auditor can set the recognizable detection risk at the lower level to set the audit risk at the sensible level (Saita, 2007). Detection risks choose the risk that is from every angle, failed in perceiving the material blunder because of the financial misstatement. An auditor must apply the audit methodologies that help with perceiving the financial statements and in this way the deception or oversight is recognized. Misapplication or oversight may provoke the essential audit procedures that exhibit the eventual outcomes of the undetected blunder of the audit done by the auditor (Lester Lester, 2007). Controlled risk helps in perceiving the material misrepresentation with in this way seeing the risks of the financial statements and the distinguishing proof of the fraud and error is seen. It along these lines also helps in distinguishing the nonappearance or dissatisfaction of the operations with the applicable controls of the materials. The segregation clarifications organized by the individual don't include the technical knowledge. In this provided case study of BSF Ltd, the intrinsic risk is evaluated as 90% and the detection risk is in every way 80%. The control risk for this circumstance is all in all 5%. With the considered lower control risk, the auditor is committed for doing audit for the firm and in this way under the above elucidated case, the auditor can play out the survey with considering the most insignificant risk and in this way making a balanced position for the association and moreover the audit (Sadi-Nakar, 2010). List and discuss the audit program included for BSF Ltd Internal auditor aides in including the improvement and record in regards to the arranging and the review engagement, also relates this matter by including the targets and the extension. It in this manner considers the goals that permits the auditor to decide the application control with doing successful operations and along these lines the outlining of the operation can be overseen adequately with focusing the application controls (Lee, 2010). The listing and the discussions of the review system are enrolled beneath which are as per the following:- The input information must be exact with finishing the fitting approval in a suitable structure. Data is prepared as it is by all accounts proposed in a satisfactory structure amid the specific day and age. Data are put away in a precise structure with consequently finishing the capacity of the information in a fitting arrangement. Outputs are by all accounts made in a precise and complete arrangement (Kelley, 2008). Records must be kept up with keeping the tracks in regards to the procedure of information info, stockpiling and yield. Do you want to work out and clueless where to go or a gym freak with more needs than just one gym have to offer? Look no more, the new UFC Gym located in Kakaako Honolulu Hawaii formally known as Pipeline. This gym is state of the art with top of the line equipment and teaches different styles of fighting technics to individuals as young as three years of age. People think just because the name UFC that itââ¬â¢s where you can brawl and tap people out, got it all wrong. You learn basic self-defense moves, and get a taste of what professional fighters go through with cardio and strength fitness before entering the cage. This gym is design to help you have self-confidence and train like the professional fighters of the UFC. I signed up as a member the first day the doors open, and the first thing that came to mind was ââ¬Å"WOW, the female employees look like ring girls. We will write a custom essay sample on Review Essay or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page The gym is very nice and well organized separating the cardio machines from the free weights as well as the mats for jujitsu and the heavy bags for boxing, giving enough room to teach multiple classes at the same time without interfering classes or individualââ¬â¢s working out. The center of the gym has a professional size octagon cage for members to train or spars, making this gym feel like a real UFC environment. The UFC gym challenges members to various works outs not just fighting but as well as D.U. T. ( daily ultimate training), MMA Fight Fitness, zumba, cycling, yoga, and many more classes to choose from, to top it off the gym is open 24 hours for your convenience. D. U. T is a mass cardio workout (similar to cross fit) that consists of six to seven different exercises that is time for two to three minutes and moving on to the next one for about four cycles. MMA fight fit is something that UFC fighters do to train there temple to achieve more stamina in the octagon. It too consists of six to seven workouts from speed bag drills, power kicks and jumps. Each exercise is time for one minute and then quickly advancing to the next one for up to five minutes for three rounds just like if you were fighting in the cage. This workout seriously puts your body to work and challenges your athletic ability; this was the toughest class from my personal experience. All classes consist of one hour and taught by qualified trainers. The 37,000 square foot gym houses 82 weight machines, 82 cardio machines, and 30 cycles as well as a 30 yard multi- purpose indoor turf field, stepping up your workout to achieve better results; I believe itââ¬â¢s the only gym that has this feature. After hours of challenging yourself you can grab a refreshing shake or beverage at the juice bar or pick up some UFC gym clothing. Another neat thing is viewing seats for parents to watch their little ones train in karate, and jujitsu located in the kidââ¬â¢s dojo. Have no one to watch your toddler awhile you get workout on? This gym has nursery center that watches your child for up to an hour and is very safe. Another thing the gym has is an auto detail in front of the facility, get your sweat on and your and car clean for that hot date in the evening giving more time to look extra sleek. Locker rooms are very big with dozens of lockers and showers, as well as 1515 ft. sauna in both male and female locker rooms. Members can also get to watch UFC fights on Pay preview for free. The gym host fights by a 2018 ft. rop screen in the center of the facility and can be viewed on TV screens around the gym to get a work out at the same time. The snack bar also has healthy snacks and food for purchase but for special events like this they serve nachos and hotdogs. All the great things this gym has to offer it stills has its down side, for instance like the parking. Its limited and they do offer valet parking from the hours of four to seven but you would have to drive to the rear of the gym and walk back to the front awhile valet Attendants Park your vehicle 50 feet from their stand. The other down side to the gym is signing up for classes, they only have few classes in the morning and a variety in the evening starting at 4 to 9pm. Signing up to take a class can be done online but highly advise to sign up a week in advance due to high volume of members and limited spots open. All classes have a set schedule and rarely changes so plan accordingly and in advance. One thing I did noticed was the one on one trainers lack a lot of motivation just standing around the clients and telling them the next workout to do, so just stay focus and keep pushing yourself. On the up side they have dozen of protein shakes with crazy names at the bar, all taste really good and price just under five dollars so stop by and reward yourself. If youââ¬â¢re the individual that can push yourself and have a workout plan or have a group of friends and want utilized multiple equipment, the best time to head to the gym is between the hours of 9am to 4 pm Monday thru Fridays and weekend mornings. Gym is empty and free to roam. I recommended th is gym to everyone. A Positive attitude, clear mind, and all motivation.
